First appointment – Welcome to AAROS
Important items to bring to your first appointment:
A referral letter – A referral letter from your GP or specialist is required to see your doctor to ensure that you are paid your Medicare rebate entitlement.
From the date of attendance – Specialist referrals are valid for 3 months and GP referrals are usually valid for 12 months.
Here is a helpful checklist of items bring to your appointment:
- Medicare card
- Private health insurance details
- Referral letter from your specialist or General Practitioner.
Your doctor may send you for further scans, x-rays or other investigations if required.

Fees and billing
Please find the AAROS doctor consultation fees below. As a private clinic, there are set fees for both your first consultation and any follow-up/review visits.
Please have a valid referral from your GP or specialist. If you have a current referral, you’ll be able to claim a Medicare rebate.

Our surgeons are recognised Surgery GAP providers. Feel free to ask our friendly team about this when you book your appointment.
After your surgery, all follow-up care is included for the first 6 to 12 weeks, depending on the type of procedure. After this period, follow-up appointments are $160 per visit.
